China suppliers succeeded in offering 0.003mm thin aluminium foil in large productions in May,
2012 which reach the top level worldwide again .
This new technology is a landmark that encourage further development of thin metal foils not
only for alu foil to meet high-grade requirements. Most of mills pay more attention to
product research and development of this area in order to capture greater market share in the
ever-changing market competition.

Six years ago, China suppliers successfully passed identification of Achievement of
science and technology by the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, thickness
0.005mm was a top topics at that time .Although it still will be a long way to go to grow up and
constantly to meet with updating market needs , it do already show the ability to mass
production which obviously has advantage of competing with aluminum foil factories abroad ,
even if some suppliers can provide much more precision aluminium foil.

At present, light gauge foil 5μm is matured with many leading indicators .

Now by internal quality and external control from the raw materials alloy 1235-0 to ensure fine
rolled finishing,making the most possibility at the beginning of the production to remove defects
such as inclusions, bubbles, extraneous matter and coarse second phase particles and uneven
wool organization etc.Improving the entire production process, effectively avoiding the main
problems in the production such as excessive pin-holes ,inferior surface
and shape conditions resulting in a substantial increase in application in the electronic,
pharmaceutical and other fields .

Being of continuous improvement together with ongoing higher quality requirements, its
performance advantages of light gauge aluminium foil , smaller proportion, large surface area,
high conductivity , will be surely to gradually apparent,it is no doubt that
thin aluminium foil from 0.009mm to 0.005mm will be more and more popular
worldwide in the near future ,in particular in packing fields which is the main part of
light gauge foil consuming , and capacitors take the rest . Moreover , 0.003mm
aluminium foil or even thinner than this thickness will be a quitely bright future thanks to
the development of nanoscale electronics technology in the coming years.
